Previously JP Morgan’s European sell side practice leader, responsible for keeping the firm at the cutting edge of divestiture practice, David worked with Industry and Country teams to capture, develop and apply best demonstrated practice, distilling the lessons from JPMorgan’s vast sell side experience.
From a start in strategy consulting in 1981, David moved into pan-European M&A. He spent four years in Paris before transferring to New York in 1985, where he joined Goldman Sachs' M&A Group. From 1989-1994, he built Wasserstein Perella's German business, with a developing focus on pharmaceuticals andchemicals. He subsequently headed the European Healthcare M&A group of Merrill Lynch.
David graduated from Balliol College, Oxford, with a first in philosophy and theology, and a doctorate in political philosophy, involving two years as a Rhodes Scholar at Heidelberg University.
