Ken is an acclaimed legal consultant and educator in the natural resources sector. He is also a visiting lecturer at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee where he teaches a course on “Commercial Contracts in the Oil and Gas Industry”.

Ken has been responsible for the development of many legal training courses provided by Terrapinn Financial Training. Ken is passionate about higher education in legal risk management – it is no wonder that his courses have been highly-praised by the past attendees.

Ken is well known in international in-house legal circles as a result of his work at Guinness PLC (as it then was) where he radically reengineered the in-house legal department. He played a leading role in the 1997 £26 billion merger between Guinness PLC and Grand Metropolitan plc to form Diageo plc. Much has been written about his role in the merger.

Ken has also advised on the establishment of law offices. He is best known for his work in establishing the Dewey
Ballantine Theodore Goddard (as it then was) Eastern European law offices in Budapest, Prague and Warsaw.

Ken graduated from the University of Western Australia (B.Juris (Hons), LL.B) and the University of Dundee (Ph.D). He also spent a year at Harvard Business School as a Visiting Scholar where his research focused on sustaining long-term commercial relationships. He is admitted to practice law in Western Australia and England and Wales.
