When did you start training for Terrapinn and how did you come to be a member of our faculty?
The association with Terrapinn commenced in July 2005, following discussions that had occurred some 8 months previously. Since I frequently travel thorugh Singapore in any event, I was more than delighted to stopover on some of the trips and undertake the training assignments.
What has been your greatest Terrapinn event – or events – so far?
On the whole I think the early courses were particularly memorable, because a distinctive feature of Terrapinn events is the greater attention to detail in catering to the needs of participants in the courses. This may be a feature of higher expectations in the SE Asian region – but compared to other training organisations, the quality of the venues, the administration, and the physical presence of Terrapinn staff to support the events is a notable difference. This was a refreshing experience for me.
Reflect on an exciting moment during one of the courses?
The time when a project diagram involved the colours blue and green. A series of strange questions began, as a participant asked about the merits of building various infrastructure assets underwater, or, he suggested, maybe they were built in an elevated way on stilts etc. A 15 minute debate on architecture ended up in the realisation that he thought the green colour on the diagram was the land and the blue colour was the sea.
Not an exciting moment, so much as a funny one when we all realised the misunderstanding.
If you were going to sum up your experience Terrapinn in one sentence – what would it be?
The pleasure of working with people who clearly seem to enjoy their work, and go the extra mile to make their customers feel valued.
